solution: use answering machine (not voice mail) to screen calls. 100% effective. haven't talked to a telemarketer in years.

solution is implemented: the weak link is typing this reply: must not pick up the phone and answer until I hear who is calling.

Next time they call, say "I've already donated, why are you calling again? Please remove me off the list."

That might make a difference. I tricked the people at Verizon Wireless that way and they stopped calling.

I politely listen to their schpeel, then ask, politely, that they remove my name from their calling list. I guess they do remove my number from their list, because they don't call back from the same charity. The calls are always from another ACS - [blah], this was the first Associated Community Services - [blah] call for donation.

I need to find a way to get them to remove my number from the master list, not just from that particular campaign's list.
