I stumbled sorta blindly into the mac realm..
for years, local geeks here in Northern Liberties urged me to get my butt online, I felt I was happy with my old panasonic friggin typewriter (which more less proves how stupid a bear can be) and it was a lucky day in the springtime of '99 when another bud urged me to get an iMac after I'd made a real bad investment in an obscure-brand pc (bad deal, bad news)...I've been happy with mac and in particular it's great that many viruses are geared towards pc's and don't strike macs, which provides some welcomed relief from all the other crap that keeps flying around here

I Like MAC.
I Like Apple.
I just don't own either a MAC or an iPod.

I am very happy that Apple chose a *nix variant for their systems and has not bowed to the (overgrown) M$.

These days I often wish I could view these matters thru the eyes of someone who understands the ramifications of all these variables...
but you either ARE or ARE NOT a geek, and a wish can't make it so. I'm not, not at all happy to know that... and I guess I have no one but myself to blame for not learning. Sigh. Don't get me wrong, I've done my homework on other fronts. Curiously, these past few years being online have provided KEY data in these pursuits (speaking about civic activism here in Philly). Anotherwords, despite of all the technical aspects of cyberspace, just to BE here in cyberspace has changed my life for the better. And I am grateful to Apple for that.
