Not completely cures, but I'm feeling better.
Saw the doc at 1000 Friday, she diagnosed me with a sinus infection and prescribed Augmentin for 10 days.
I sent this in to the Lowe's feedback form.
I did not have a good experience at your Eatontown Lowe's store today.
I went to your store in Eatontown, NJ today to have some keys made. I asked the fellow behind the counter for three sets of 4 keys. I presented the keys, the fellow asked what the keys were for. A travel trailer, I said. He started trying to push the original keys into a selection device on the machine. He asked a car or truck? No, a camper, travel trailer, like a motor home, I said. He continued trying to push the keys into a plastic selector on the key making machine. I came around the side and suggested that he try another type of key. (time passes) He eventually settled on a type 78 & 80 key blank and he showed me that my keys went into the holes.
He asked how many I wanted. Four each of the rubber rimmed ones and four of the brass one, I said. The keys are made, about half way through the sets another customer walks up to the counter. The fellow making my keys keeps walking from the key machine to the back counter, yelling across the aisle to another employee about something or another, certainly nothing that I asked and he hasn't recognized the new customer. About 7 or 8 minutes later, almost at the end of my 12 keys, another employee passing by, notices the second customer and walks up behind the counter to engages the second customer. The second customer was handled in a much better fashion by the second employee then I was by the fellow who made my keys.
I get home to find out that the key blanks he chose were too short for the keys that he was trying to make. On closer inspection I see that the profile of the keys are also completely wrong and do not match the originals.
I will NEVER use any Lowe's store for my key needs from this point forward. It is clear to me that the 'system' that you use for selecting and copying keys in faulty. You should contact the manufacturer of the system - Hillman or you should make sure that your personnel are properly trained in the use of the equipment.
I will be returning ALL the keys made today for refund. I have found a trained locksmith locally that I will be using from now on.
