Halloween - Heard in apartment 9B @ 08:49 am

Location: apartment - 9 B
Mood: amused [grin]
Music: Dave dressing to leave for work.

J: So, what are we going to do for today?
We don't have any candy and we don't really need it around the house.
How about giving out change?

D: Whatever you want to do is fine.

J: I guess that I should get dressed then.
nothing better then the gay guy from upstairs answering the door half naked, giving out change to kids.

Tell 'em you are dressed up as Mark Foley.

(Carry a computer keyboard to complete the ensemble.)

Do you actually have kids that come knocking? I never did when I lived in a non-secured building, despite my loud playing of Carmina Burana. :)

Yeah, I think we just didn't have many kids in the neighborhood. I probably should have stopped buying candy.

Neither Dave nor I need to have candy in the apartment. I have type2 diabetes and definitely don't need that strong a temptation in the apartment.

A couple of years ago, out of need for something to give out and a desire not to have candy around, I grabbed the change cup that we keep by the door and dropped a couple of dimes or quarters into the kid's bags, when they caught on to what I was giving them, they yelled out for their friends, that apartment (so and so) was giving out money, get over there...

heh!

Hmmmm If you're answering the door half naked, I may have to come trick or treating in your neighborhood. *eg*

last year, my bear neighbor upstairs decked out the porch in halloween garb.
and i finally learned my lesson and bought the candy 3 days before and kept it out of sight! Always buy the good stuff, because a lot poor kids come from the projects and trenton, and the biggest thrill for me is the hear a little kid say, wow, "alamond joy bar!"
Early we get the sweet little 4 year olds with their parents, Harry sometimes would have apple cider for them. Those kids are the sweetest, the amazing evening when adult give you choclate!

Then later cars would drive in from jesery doors open kids spill out like it was a clown car! Love freaking out the kids who say thank you, sometimes i give them 2 pieces. Then there is always the scondrel who is the first in the crowd and comes back last and thinks I didn't see him!
You know, adults can have their costume parties, but the smile of little kids on halloween, is like watching them open christmas presents. Just is something you don't forget!
best regards,
pete

yup!
very cool.

Most of the ~30+ kids that came to the door seem to be from the military housing up the street.

Even cooler were the kids who stopped, turned around and replied, Thanks, to you too, to my wish for them to a good and safe evening.
